PROJECT WeAreEurope 1 - Citzenship Education

WeAreEurope is a project aiming to strengthen the tie between children and the European Union and with the values of a diverse and inclusive Europe.
From the September of 2015 to August 2018 we developed a wide set of activities with the final purpose of creating an innovative online educational game for European Citizenship Education of children between 6 and 10 years old, that will be available freely to teachers and parents. |

The Game & Learning Approach
Enjoy an exciting learning experience on Citizenship, both for you and your pupils and kids

In the Game, players will embody the role of young children in a group that inadvertently go back in time and now have to find a way to return to the present. During their journey, the group will be taken to specific and relevant periods in European history.
In each given period in European history, the group will have to travel through European countries and territories, solving challenges, riddles and quizzes that take them a step further to their objective of returning home. |
To succeed, the group of children must work as a team taking advantage of different skills sets (selected at the beginning of the game) that will be required in specific situations in the game.
Throughout this adventure, there will be a character helping the group finding their way back, but there will also be opposing forces whose mission is to prevent time travelling. |

The sun was warm and bright (...). Four young friends were out hiking in the nearby mountain, as they did almost every weekend. (...) From the distance it appeared as if some small rocks rolled down the mountain just a few meters ahead.(...) They slowly walked towards the area where the wall gave away.(...)They looked closer. The hole in the mountain opened to a wide and dark inner chamber. But a small drawing in the wall, next to the entrance caught their attention.(...) The light from the lantern searched the cave in every direction. The cave looked now smaller. Unexpectedly something shimmered on the wall as the light passed over.(...) The group started removing the dirt with their bare hands. They were surprised when some kind of dashboard with buttons was quickly revealed.(...) The more adventurous of them pressed a large button…all of a sudden, all four of them vanished… Want to know more?
